This week’s Earth Watch guest on the Sojourner Truth Radio show is Elizabeth Díaz of World Rainforest Movement, who is currently on local in Chile with a coalition united against genetically engineered trees.
For the past 20 years Elizabeth has been working to support struggles of indigenous peoples, and traditional and peasant communities for the recognition and respect of their role in and practices of forest conservation, as well as to guarantee their collective rights over their territories.
World Rainforest Movement has been involved in addressing the threats of GE trees since 2004, when they produced the report: “Genetically Modified Trees: The Ultimate Threat to Forests.”
The Sojourner Truth Radio Show airs every week on KPFK-FM in Los Angeles and around the world online. The Earth Watch segment begins at around 6 minutes and 50 seconds into the show.
