Will Canada approve and regulate an apple engineered in British Columbia that doesn’t brown when cut open?
Northern Voices Online reports that Okanagan Specialty Fruits is pushing to have it’s non-browning GMO Arctic apples approved by Health Canada in the coming months.
“The apple ‘will be authorized once regulators are satisfied that all aspects of the safety assessment has been adequately addressed,’ said Andre Gagnon, a media relations officer with Health Canada.”
