How GMOs Might Save The American Chestnut Tree

This program aired 29 April 2019 and was hosted Meghna Chakrabarti. The program is heavily tipped in favor of the two men who speak in favor of using genetically engineering to make American chestnut trees blight resistant, but Dr. Rachel Smolker of Biofuelwatch and the Campaign to STOP GE Trees does an excellent job at exposing the corporate backing of the chestnut research and outlining the reasons why this is a very risky idea, and one that could easily open the door to the commercial use of other genetically engineered trees developed expressly for industrial tree plantations.
